NHRA Full Throttle 2012 Yearbook Benefits Cancer Research PDF Print E-mail

BROWNSBURG, IN – Fans of NHRA Full Throttle Drag racing can pre-order a collectable yearbook from the 2012 season that will be available just in time for Christmas. The yearbook, titled "Life's A Drag," will feature full-color action and candid photos of the NHRA’s hottest drivers and their families.

Produced by Andrea Pedregon, founder of the Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation, “A Spark of Hope,” the 60-page year in review will highlight the 2012 races and give fans a glimpse into what their favorite pro drivers do when they are not racing.

Proceeds from the sales will benefit colon and prostate cancer research. Pedregon, wife of two-time Funny Car champion Tony Pedregon, raised nearly $100,000 to support melanoma and children’s cancer research in the past two years through sales of her foundation’s “Real Housewives” and “Real Families” calendars featuring NHRA drivers and their families.

"I am continually fueled to create new charity projects, thanks to the enormous support from NHRA drivers, teams, sponsors and fans,” Pedregon said. “The yearbook sales will support additionally needed research and awareness for prostate and colon cancer."

The Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation has raised over $20,000 for prostate and colon cancer research through the 2012 NHRA Yearbook project. The NHRA yearbooks are a spinoff from the calendars the charity typically produces to raise money for different causes each year.

The 2012 NHRA Yearbooks are still available for purchase at and now also available in the NHRA Nitro Mall and Nitro Fish trailer at each race. They are the perfect item to take to the track and have your favorite drivers autograph. There are a select amount of yearbooks left, and the price is now $20.

This year the foundation’s project benefits the IU Simon Cancer Center, a partnership between Indiana University School of Medicine and Indiana University Health, and their efforts towards colon and prostate cancer research.

The Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation will present the donation to the Cancer Center at the end of year. Check back for updates on the project throughout the year at

Annual Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation project transforms to yearbook PDF Print E-mail

With the continued support of the NHRA as a whole, Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation has produced calendars for the past two seasons highlighting several drivers and teams. However, after the last calendar expanded to 18 months, APCF focused on a new project: the uniquely created NHRA yearbook.

The yearbook, entitled Life’s A Drag, will ship before Christmas. Highlighted throughout the piece is behind the scenes access to drivers and their families. Every top ten driver in the pro classes is highlighted, and this year APCF, also known as ‘A Spark of Hope’ will showcase shots never seen before.

“Through the support of the NHRA fans, APCF has been able to impact more lives than I would have ever thought possible,” said Andrea Pedregon, founder and wife of two-time NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Champion Tony Pedregon. “Although I have changed it slightly for this year, I believe the yearbook will give NHRA fans the behind the scenes access to their favorite drivers they are really craving for.”

The NHRA calendars have proven to be a success thanks to the support of the NHRA fan base. Nearly $100,000 has been donated the past two seasons to charities such as the New Jersey Sharing Network, Girls Night In, Indiana University Cancer Center for use in children’s cancer research and Melanoma cancer research. This year’s yearbook raised funds are going to a new cause: prostate and colon cancer research.

“There are so many causes that need support, and I believe this is an important one,” said Pedregon. “This could impact many of our drivers and crews and it makes it vital that we try to find a cure for it.”

Life’s A Drag costs $25.00 $20.00 plus shipping, and as always 100% of the proceeds go directly to the research. The People magazine style yearbook can be bought at, and at the Nitrofish trackside locations in the 2013 season. The yearbook makes a great gift for any NHRA fan, and a great keepsake on the last season of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing series.

2012 NHRA Yearbook PDF Print E-mail

After much consideration, I have decided to move forward with another charity project and include all teams, drivers, owners, sponsors, and advertisers. In lieu of producing another calendar, this year I would like to create a “ Yearbook” (similar to the annually published PEOPLE Magazine Yearbook). I will be requesting permission to use the NHRA/Full Throttle logo (as I have in the past) for use on the cover. The layout would consist of sections for each Pro Class, including Sportsman & Pro Mod.

The yearbook will highlight race pictures from the current race season, as well as pictures from home ... fans love to know about what we do when we are not racing (ie: engagement, marriage, new baby, kids, vacation, other races you may attend, casual/formal events outside of racing, celebrity meetings, concerts, holidays, etc.)

Please consider helping me support yet another great cause and be a part of a unique “collectable yearbook” from the 2012 season! The last 2 calendars raised nearly $100,000 combined and supported Melanoma research and Children’s cancer thanks to YOUR help!

Sparking Hope, Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation announces donation PDF Print E-mail

Since 2009, the Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation (APCF) has tried to live by its motto, ‘A Spark of Hope.’ With events ranging from charity dinners to Locks of Love haircuts, providing numerous cleft lip surgeries to unique themed calendars, NHRA fans have continued to support the APCF in its ventures. Most recently, Andrea Pedregon created the Real Families of NHRA calendar, and fans continued their support. Their backing helped the APCF reach a goal and today (June 6, 2012) Andrea graciously announced a $50,000 donation to the IU Foundation for Children’s Cancer Research.

This donation was done in honor of a classmate of the Pedregon’s son, Dezi. Since 2008, six-year-old Henry Mullett has struggled with cancerous brain tumors, and has had constant help from the hospital. This day, entitled Hooray for Henry, featured a Cars theme and brought in the doctors that worked with Mullett. Pedregon started her day with a check presentation to Amber Kleopfer, Senior Associate Director of Development for Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, on the TV show IndyStyle.

Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation Makes Philanthropic Contribution in honor of Heather Anne Aurora PDF Print E-mail
ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. – Following its tagline ‘A Spark of Hope,’ the Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation (APCF) is making a monetary contribution in honor of Heather Anne Aurora to the NJ Sharing Network Foundation, the philanthropic arm of NJ Sharing Network, the non-profit organization responsible for the recovery of organs and tissue for nearly 5,000 New Jerseyans awaiting life-saving transplants. Aurora died at the age of 21 when she was struck as a pedestrian crossing a street.

Aurora’s parents, Scott and Sharon Krampetz have followed NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing for 32 years. Scott Krampetz had been a long-time fan of Tony Pedregon, which led Aurora to contribute to the APCF’s first event. Pedregon was working with Locks of Love, and Aurora cut her hair to make a wig for cancer victims. Andrea Pedregon met up with the Krampetz family at the fall Las Vegas race.

“That very moment that Sharon and I hugged we shared the loss of Heather. Through the tears we also reflected on several lives she saved,” said Pedregon. “I am honored to recognize Heather this Saturday with a memorial dedication. She was truly an inspiration who kept on giving.”

Aurora was an organ donor, and her kidneys, heart valves, corneal tissue, and skin were donated to organ and tissue recipients to give people a chance to regain life as they once had it. The presentation of the monetary gift will take place at Aurora’s home track, Englishtown, on Saturday, June 2nd at 2 pm.

“Although Ms. Aurora is no longer with us, she was able to give the gift of life to others through the miracle of organ and tissue donation,” said Elisse Glennon, executive director of the NJ Sharing Network Foundation. “Ms. Aurora’s final act of kindness is proof that good can come from any tragedy.”

More lives could be saved if people repeated Ms. Aurora’s courageous act and registered as an organ donor. Doing so would give more hope to the 114,000 people currently awaiting a life-saving organ transplant in the United States.
